How to Select Circular Blades for Log Roll Slitters

Here're some tips about the selection of circular blade for the log roll slitters:

Generally we use two types of materials: high speed steel and tungsten steel blades for log roll cutting machines.

• For masking tape, double-sided tape, duct tape, bopp tape, both blades are ok.

• When it comes to foam tape, tungsten blade is highly recommended, as we all know blade wearing a lot for cutting foam tapes. With tungsten blades, well, blade just need sharpen once after 20,000 cuts; with high speed steel blade requires for sharpening just after 200cuts.

• When tungsten blades NOT recommended: very hard materials like protective film, big yard BOPP packing tape, crisp materials like PET film, etc.

• Blade size (OD): log roll outer diameter-inner core diameter+blade clamp diameter. Generally: most regular sizes are: 180mm, 250mm, 300mm, 350mm, 400mm, 450mm, 500mm and 600mm.
